FAQs

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

What are the Elisean Fields/Plains?
The “Elisean Fields” and “Elisean Plains” are plays on the Elysian Fields or the Elysian Plains which are, in Greek mythology, a part of the Underworld and is the Greek version of heaven. I’ve been reading Greek mythology since I was 9, and one of my favorite books is Edith Hamilton’s Mythology so it’s natural that I call my version of heaven (which is being able to make a living writing and being published) the Elisean Field/Plains. Now that you ask, I think it would have sounded better if I called it the Elisean Plains, ‘no? For more information, visit the Wikipedia article on Elysium.

Are Nathan, Noah and Nicko Callanta for real?
No, unfortunately not. They are only figments of my imagination, as much as I want them to be real. What I did was to come up with how I want a boyfriend to be like, what I want a boyfriend to do, and how I want a boyfriend to act, and came up with the Callantas. That’s how I pretty much come up with all of my characters. They may resemble people I know or have certain qualities that people I know have, but I idealized them in order to turn them into the characters I write about. So, no the Callantas aren’t “real”.

Are your stories based on real life events?
Not that I’m aware of. Some of the things in the stories have happened in real life. For example, Nicko and Becca’s trip to SM Baguio in Rebel Heart is a recreation of the things that one of my best friends and I did while we were in Baguio. Aside from that, the others are purely fictional, especially the romantic elements. My stories are entirely fictional… no matter how much I would wish something like those would happen to me. And they are not based on anyone’s stories, or anyone’s life.

Will any of your stories have part IIs?
Ah, the part II question. I have no idea if MSV allows a story to have part IIs. MSV, generally, does not allow part IIs for stories. I’ve been receiving lots of requests from people who love Nathan, and requests for a part II for Inosenteng Puso seems to make up the bulk of them. But, you see, the Callantas is a series, and technically, Nathan is already part II of that series. I also love Nathan very much. He has a special place in my heart for being the very first of my boys to be published. But, I don’t really see a part II for him… for the meantime. I’m not saying no… just not yet. And I don’t think it would be published.

Will you write my story?
Hehe I’m very flattered that you trust me to write your love story, and I’m sure it’s a very good one at that, but the thing is I only follow what my characters tell me to write. If I don’t really hear you in my head, I might not be able to write the story you want me to. If you have a story to tell, I encourage you to tell it. It would be very interesting, even more so, if it came from you and from your heart :) I would love to hear your story though, I just won’t be able to write it.

Do you have Friendster/MySpace/Facebook/Multiply/insert other social networking sites here?
No, I don’t have Friendster or MySpace. I only have this (WordPress), a Multiply site, and Twitter.

I hope I was able to answer your questions ^_^ If not, feel free to leave a comment.
