So he did what his godfather asked him to do: bantayan ang babae parati para masigurong hindi ito nagda-drugs at hindi magagaya sa best friend nito na namatay dahil na-overdose sa ipinagbabawal na gamot.

Pero habang nakikilala si Sophia, parang nalilito siya sa nalalaman tungkol dito. Bakit parang hindi ito iyong sophisticated, party girl, spoiled brat na kinaiinisan niya? Bago pa napansin ni Sam, nalimutan na niyang hiling lang ng ninong niya ang dahilan ng pagsama-sama niya sa dalaga.

TRIVIA

• Half of the book was written in Dumaguete. I finished Sam’s story while sitting at Edith Joaquin’s desk in her office.

• Sam and Jordan kept on changing their minds (yes, them and not me) on whose story will be book 3 of the series, until the female character, Sophia put her foot down and chose Sam. So even if he’s the youngest Legaspi, his story became book 3.

• Sam’s friend, S/Insp. Jacob Villareal is one of my future characters. He’ll have his own story in the Sentinel’s series. Also, Sam will make a cameo appearance in Jacob’s book.

• NBI Agent Gabriel Avelino will also, possibly, have his own story. Possibly.
