I was in college when the 9/11 attack happened. I went to school that morning and was shocked when one of my blockmates showed me a copy of the PDI with the picture of the World Trade Center on fire.
I found this picture of the World Trade Center attack taken from space from Gizmodo. This was taken by Frank Culbertson who was the commander of the International Space Station at that time.
My post may be a little late, but it doesn’t mean that I have forgotten. I may not be American, but that doesn’t make me less angry at the senselessness of terrorism and violence.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, not only of the 9/11 attacks but of all terrorist acts.
allow me to share my kwento…ako, mega-panic mode nun. my dh, then fiancee, was working in wall st then. tapos yung groomsman namin, na bestfriend niya, sa 97th floor sa tower 2. nakahinga lang ako ng maluwag nang makapag-usap kami ni dh. buti na lang late siya pumasok. yung groomsman, nakababa in time. pero hindi na nakauwi for our church wedding kasi yung passport niya naiwan sa office kaya kasama sa casualty. i remember nagpunta ako ng US noon, november after the attack, kasi nagpa-civil wedding kami. grabe talaga. there was a literal (and figurative) cloud of gloom sa city. even after a month, grabe ang dust sa certain parts dahil sa debree. napaka-senseless talaga ng attack.
Kinilabutan ako sa story mo. Buti your dh didn’t get hurt. Saka yung best man niya. My gosh, nandun siya mismo? Nakakatakot grabe. Wala naman napatunguhan! Nandamay lang sila ng mga taong walang kamalay-malay.
true. walang napatunguhan. yung best man…dun kasi ang office niya. marami siyang officemates na na-casualty. ang dahilan kung bakit yun nakaligtas, naki-usi (typical pinoy) kasi sa baba. dahil unang tinamaan yung kabilang tower. nakakapangilabot ‘no. grabe.
Buti na lang Pinoy siya! Hahaha pero seriously, buti na lang talaga. Hindi ko maimagine yung takot nung mga nandoon! Sobra.
